Sydney Fence Group is a Penrith-based fencing contractor. We've been building fences across Western Sydney for over eighteen years. Long enough that a fair few of the boundaries between Penrith and St Marys are ours, and long enough to know which ones were built properly and which ones weren't.
Most of what we do is chainwire. Factory yards, school perimeters, tennis courts, construction sites, storage compounds. It's not glamorous work, but it's the work that has to be right, because a chainwire fence is usually the only thing between a site and a problem.
The rest is everything else a boundary needs. Colorbond and timber for backyards, glass for pools, modular walls where you want masonry without the wait, aluminium slat across the front, and gates that open by themselves. Commercial or residential, seven days a week.

Most of our work is inside the Penrith council area — Penrith, St Marys, Glenmore Park, Cranebrook, Jordan Springs, Emu Plains, Kingswood and Erskine Park. But we travel across Sydney for the right job, and we go further again for commercial work. If you're outside the list, ring us anyway and we'll tell you straight away whether we can get to you.
THE QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED MOST
Under the Dividing Fences Act 1991, adjoining owners contribute equally to a dividing fence of a sufficient standard. If your neighbour wants something better than sufficient, they pay the difference. Serve a Fencing Notice setting out the boundary, the work and the estimated cost, and we can supply a written quote for you to attach to it.
In a residential zone in NSW, side and rear boundary fences up to 1.8 metres are usually exempt development, or 1.2 metres if the fence is masonry. Front boundary fences are capped at 1.2 metres. On bushfire-prone land the fence has to be non-combustible or hardwood. We'll tell you where your block sits before we quote.
Yes. A NSW pool barrier must be at least 1.2 metres high, with no gap under it wider than 100 millimetres and no gap between vertical members wider than 100 millimetres. There also has to be a 900 millimetre non-climbable zone, and the gate must be self-closing, self-latching, swing outwards and have the latch at least 1.5 metres up.

Most residential fences are a one to two day job once we're on site — one day to set the posts, one to hang the panels, with the concrete curing in between. Bigger runs, retaining, or an automated gate add time, and we'll tell you the number of days in the written quote.
